Alcatel One Touch Fire: Mozilla Firefox OS Smartphone

One Touch Fire

Alcatel added a new device to their One Touch series, meet the Alcatel One Touch Fire. This time it is not running on Android platform instead the device is running on a new generation of mobile OS, the Mozilla Firefox OS.

The One Touch Fire specifications are nothing spectacular, in fact it is actually an entry level smartphone. It will sport a 3.5" display of HVGA resolution, Qualcomm MSM7227A Chipset clocked at 1GHz, 3.2MP Main camera without flash and will be available in a variety of colors. It will support Quad Band GSM and Quad Band GSM

The device measure 115mm(L)x62.3mm(W)x12.2mm(T) and weighs 108 grams. It packs a 1400mAh battery that promise to bring up to 280 hours of standby and 6.7 hours of 2G talktime. It will have the usual sets of connectivity like WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS with A-GPS and micro USB 2.0. Stereo FM is also present. The main downside here is having a 256MB of RAM which I believed even for Firefox OS is too small. Internal storage also left something to be desired since there is only 160MB user accessible.
