Arc Mobile Memo

Arc Mobile surprised us when they released the Nitro 450QD, the cheapest quad-core Android phone with MT6589 chipset and now I got the MEMO which is currently the cheapest quad-core Phablet with 1GB of RAM. It will only cost you 6299 pesos (which is the same price with Cherry Mobile Thunder 2.0 that has only 512MB memory) to have this amazing device.

The Memo has a large display of 5.3-inches with qHD display, quad-core 1.2GHz Cortex A7 CPU, PowerVR SGX544MP coupled with 1GB of RAM. As a bonus it also has a built-in capacitive stylus.

Key Specs:

  • Dual SIM, Dual Standby
  • 5.3" capacitive qHD, 5-point multi-touch
  • Android Jelly Bean 4.2.1
  • 1.2GHz Cortex-A7 Quad-Core CPU, PowerVR SGX544MP GPU MediaTek MT6589 chipset
  • 1GMB of RAM
  • 4GB of internal storage, expandable up to 32GB via micro SD
  • 8MP auto focus main camera with LED flash
  • 2MP secondary camera
  • WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
  • Stereo FM Radio
  • 3.5mm Audio Jack
  • Micro USB 2.0
  • Bluetooth
  • GPS with A-GPS support and EPO assistance
  • 2000mAh Li-Ion Battery

As expected the Antutu score is at par with the competition, topping at more than 13K mark.

Before I buy the unit, there are users reported that the casing of Samsung Galaxy Note II fits perfectly on it. So I tried and they are right, the jelly case fits as it should be, all the parts that ought to be exposed like camera and micro USB port are OK.

Samsung Note II and Arc Mobile Memo

Looking at the above picture we can safely say that they are indeed looking very similar. We will do a full review soon, if you have anything you would like to be included please do not hesitate to let us know by commenting below.

  2. This sure is great especially for those on a tight budget. I almost liked this one, but unfortunately, as a techy person who loves great cheap-local-branded phones, I am a bit picky. What makes this a downer 'for me' is the stylus, and the screen. Make it an IPS, and put a Corning Gorilla Glass or DragonTrail glass on it, and this'll be a hit! But of course, I think they did not include those for the sake of the price. Arc Mobile tried their utmost best to bring out an affordable quad-core device, so all in all, this budget-friendly 5'3 quad-core device is a great buy :)

There's a group in FB dedicated to Arc Mobile Memo, and few of the members there stated that the stylus is not that great.

They also posted tons of pictures that shows how the accessories for the SGN2 fits this device. Several members are asking if the SGN2 battery fits as well, but unluckily, it does not fit at all. Those who tried states that the battery of the SGN2 is a bit large for the Arc Mobile Memo's battery slot.

I am looking forward to TeknoGadyet's detailed full review of this device! :)

If possible, in your upcoming review, would you please try an application that lets you draw or sketch, so that we will be able to see the true quality and performance of the stylus? Thanks in advance! More Powers! :)

    3. Screen is IPS but no protection of any kind, casing of SGN2 fits perfectly, stylus is just a normal capacitive type (rubber tip) so don't expect too much beside there is no Wacom Digitizer.

I do not know how to check how many Bands it support, can't find app in Play Store either, so please teach me how.

  9. Arc Cellular Memo evidently provides the Starmobile Gemstone V3 with it's sights. It has exactly the same monitor size because Gemstone V3, on 5. 3-inches, nevertheless the Memo features a better resolution qHD (540 times 960) screen, compared to the V3's FWVGA (480 times 854) screen. Your Memo also offers a more powerful processor chip being furnished with a new MediaTek MT6589 processor chip, that will possibly be 20-30% more efficient than the Qualcomm MSM8225Q processor chip for the Gemstone V3. Your Mediatek chipset for the Memo also offers a new HSPA+ (21. 1 Mbps) radio stations, as compared with the HSPA (7. a couple of Mbps) radio stations for the Gemstone V3
