Many of us wondered what could have happened to Nokia if they chose Google's Android instead of Windows OS but for sure we will never know especially that Microsoft already bought Nokia. The good news is that former Nokia's Asia-Pacific CEO Thomas Zilliacus founded Newkia which aims to bring Nokia build and design quality running on Android platform.
Thomas worked for the once giant company for 15 years wherein 7 years of that as Asia-Pacific CEO. He said that to be able to fulfill this vision he hired some of his ex-staff and would continue to hire more. He mentioned that what Newkia wants is to develop the world's best smartphone running on Android with the Nokia technology know-how.
Newkia wants to launch their first phone within the year but that still depends on the funds available. The company will be based in Singapore and will target Asian market at first.
Honestly I really like the Lumia's design, I had Lumia 710, Lumia 800, Lumia 620 and Lumia 820 but after the latter I never wanted a Windows phone again, mainly because the same reason I had win iPhone - closed OS does not work with me and I believed to many people as well especially those that are power user.
So, would it be a great success in the future or would die without reaching its goal?
