Apple Announced The iPad Mini 2 With Retina Display

Apple iPad Mini 2 With Retina Display

Apple unveiled earlier today the second generation iPad Mini now with Retina Display. The screen size is still the same with its successor but with 4x the resolution (1536 x 2048 versus 768 x 1024) and 2x the pixel density (324 ppi versus 162 ppi).

The physical dimensions are almost the same but it is now 0.3mm thicker (7.5mm versus 7.2mm). It is not only the display which is a big leap but the internals as well. The new iPad Mini features the same processor found in the iPhone 5S, a home-brewed A7 chipset with 1.3GHz dual-core Cyclone (ARMv8 based) processor, PowerVR G6430 (quad-core) GPU plus M7 motion co-processor.

It will be available in two models, WiFi only and WiFi+Cellular. Both versions will have at least 16GB of on-board storage up to 128GB. Expected release is on November with USD399 price tag as the cheapest (16GB Wi-Fi version) and as much as $829 for 128GB with LTE.
