|Nokia Lumia 1020 Event|
Last Tuesday October 1, Nokia Philippines officially launched top-of-the-line Windows Phone, the Lumia 1020. The event was held at the Ayala Museum in Makati City in front of bloggers, web portals and print media personnel.
The Nokia Lumia 1020 has the largest imaging sensor put into a smartphone to date, it boasts a 41MP six-stage camera module, Carl Zeiss optics, Xenon and LED flash. The Lumia 1020 has an effective 38MP, which translate to a whooping 88 inches by 66 inches (7.33 ft x 5.5 ft) when printed.
Nokia is the first to introduce the camera phone to the world with their Nokia 7650 and since then it has been one of their strong point. That is something they want to emphasize with their current flagship, it is more of a camera phone than to a smartphone. But don't get me wrong, the 1020 runs on Windows Phone 8 and eligible with the Amber update.

It is not the first 41MP phone that came from Nokia, if you could recall the 808 Pure View has it. But the one in the 1020 has a BSI design which improves the sensors' sensitivity in any lighting condition. It also has Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) that compensate to your hand movements and allowing you to take pictures with longer exposure without having blur on your subject.
If you are planning to get one, it will be available starting next week October 11 for Php35,650 with FREE camera grip (worth 4000 pesos) which doubles as an external battery pack so you won't need to worry about battery juice.
