One of my favorite apps in Lumia 1020 is the HERE Drive+, it is a FREE lifetime voice-guided navigation solution.
HERE Drive+ Voice and Maps
Once you have downloaded the Map and Language of your choice you can start using it in offline mode (given that location access is turned on). The Philippine Map is more than 40MB so you need to be connected to a WiFi network before you can download it.
HERE Drive+ Interface
With the Drive+ you can easily plan your route even in offline mode, this is where the Lumia 1020 is ahead in terms of navigation system not only in the WP8 devices but also with iOS and Android.
The HERE Maps serve as a replacement to your regular paper map. It shares the save data with the HERE Drive+ therefore you do not need to download separate map if you already did it with the Drive+.
The Lumia 1020 has a multitasking feature, the previous apps used are suspended in the background. To access them just press and hold the back button. To completely close all applications you need to hit the back button successively until you reach the homescreen.
Under settings>background tasks you can set the application to continue to run even it is not open like the HERE Drive+.
The Windows Phone 8 operating system does not have a quick toggle setting, any settings you want to change or modify you need to go to the Setting app.
This is where you can find the apps or games that matches your personality, it collects data about how you use your phone and it will present you the best apps from Windows Store that suit your needs.
Nokia Care is where you can find the tips and tricks in using your phone while Help+Tips is mostly for Windows Phone 8 operating system.
Find My Phone
When enabled you can locate, lock or send apps to your phone from WindowsPhone.com.
The Nokia Lumia 1020 has an excellent camera, the best among any other camera phone in the industry. Its class-leading camera module shoots amazing pictures with a lot of 'camera lenses' to use in different situations or occasions. The ability to manually control the important camera settings give it far more advance than a point-and-shoot camera.
The offline navigation app HERE Drive+ is also something worth mentioning, as we know it is a free lifetime solution which you cannot find elsewhere in the WP8 platform even in the Android or iOS.
However, the Lumia 1020 is a phone and whether we like it or not we will deal with the Windows Phone 8 O/S and its interface more than we will use its camera. If you are upgrading from an old WP8 phone or love having a good camera on your phone, I can say that you are on the right track.
