Qube Colonia, 5.5-inch Octa Core Phablet For Php8,999

Qube Asia's first mobile device, the Qube PhoneTab, was a big hit and consumers are very much satisfied with its true value for money. Its success gave them the confidence to come up with a better product, an Octa Core device named Colonia.

It sports a 5.5-inch 720p IPS capacitive touchscreen display powered by MediaTek MT6592 with eight CPU cores clocked at 1.7GHz each coupled with 2GB of RAM. There is 16GB of native storage plus micro SD slot that can accommodate up to 64GB of additional storage.

There is a 13MP rear auto focus camera with LED flash and a 5MP snapper in the front for your "selfie" needs. Connectivity wise, the basics are all covered - dual SIM with HSPA+ support, WiFi, Bluetooth and USB OTG.

The Colonia runs on Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box, has an introductory price of Php8,999 and will be available next month. Like the PhoneTab, you can order it on their website and it will be delivered to your doorsteps within three days at no additional cost.

  2. It looks like the only difference between this and the soon-to-be-released Redmi Note is the Internal Memory, the weight, and the dimensions.

For me, Redmi Note is the way to go UNLESS the price goes the same as this one. If only Qube Colonia's price goes down a thousand or two, many might consider this over the Redmi Note(Including me). Sounds a bit demanding, but let's be real. Almost everyone wants a cheap quality smartphone :)
