|Western Digital Red SATA Hard Drives for Network Attached Storage|
Western Digital upgrades its Red SATA product line with the announcement of a 5TB hard drive, a 6TB NAS-specific storage plus the introduction of the WD Red Pro for small to medium Network Attached Storage needs.
With these new developments, the WD Red now has storage options from 1 TB to 6 TB while the WD Red Pro offers storage from 2 TB to 4 TB. Aside from the increased capacity, the WD Red family has also improved bay support of up to 8 bays.
These NAS hard drives are also equipped with NASware 3.0, a software technology that helps improve system performance, minimize customer downtime and simplified integration. They also feature the 3D Active Balance Plus, which optimizes performance and reliability of the hard drives.
The above mentioned WD products can seamlessly integrate with the company's own cloud solutions such as the MyCloud, the MyCloud Mirror, the MyCloud EX2 and the MyCloud EX4 as well as MyBook and the MyBook Duo external drive solutions. They are also compatible with other OEM NAS manufacturers like Synology.
Proven to be a reliable NAS system hard drive, the WD Red series is being used by companies such as ASUSTOR, QNAP Systems Incorporated, and I-O Data Device Incorporated.
Locally distributed by Iontech Technologies Incorporated and Ubertech Technologies Incorporated, the WD Red drives are now available at selected retailers. The 5TB WD Red has an SRP of Php10,950 while the 6TB for Php13,400. Meanwhile, the WD Red Pro 2TB, 3TB and 4TB are priced at Php6,995, Php8,850 and Php11,500 respectively.
