Western Digital Launched WD My Book Duo Desktop Storage Device

Western Digital recently launched the My Book Duo desktop storage device. This new item has two storage drives and runs on USB 3.0 which enables transfer speeds up to 290MBps.

This item delivers a faster transfer speed rate than single-drive storage devices and is also pre-configured with Redundant Array of Independent Disks or RAID. RAID allows a user to use one storage drive to save the files and the other drive to store duplicate copies.

Meanwhile, the files saved in the WD My Book Duo are secured by WD Smartware Pro and Acronis True Image. This storage device also allows cloud storage compatibility as Dropbox users can store their files off-site and access files online via Dropbox Web Access.  Likewise, My Book Duo works on 256-bit AES hardware encryption and password protection to provide reliable security.

The WD My Book Duo comes in 4TB, 6TB, 8TB and 12TB capacities and it comes with a three-year regional warranty. This storage device is now available through the Western Digital’s online store as well as through local distributors Iontech Incorporated and EA Global Supply Chain Solutions, Incorporated.

The manufacturer’s suggested retail price for the WD MyBook Duo are as follows: Php13,990 for 4TB, Php16,990 for 6TB, Php 22,990 for 8TB, and Php31,990 for 12TB.
