|IdeaSpace Foundation Set Sights ASEAN Integration Role|
IdeaSpace Foundation, a Philippine-based incubator and accelerator for startups set its sights to a more challenging role in the ASEAN Economic Community.
So what is IdeaSpace? It is a non-profit organization under the umbrella of Manny V. Pangilinan's group of companies. They aim to build successful businesses from technology startup entrepreneurs by investing in them. Last year, they provided more than 30 million pesos direct funds to tech startups.
This year, they are eying to expand their presence internationally as the formation of AEC, a single trade ASEAN market that includes Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Philippines, is coming closer.

In preparation, they have been travelling around the world to gaze for different startup models that could be beneficial and can be applied to local startups. In addition, they also collaborated with Massachusetts Institure of Technology to transform those startup people to become business acumen and help them create actual commercial products.
|Sustainable Alternative Lighting or SALt|
To give a concrete example, Sustainable Alternative Lighting powered by water and salt or SALt in short, which is one of the winners of the 2014 IdeaSpace competition is now gaining rounds in the market. They able to transform their prototype to a tangible and actual consumer item.
