|Western Digital Showcased Fastest 4TB Hybrid Drive|
During the recently concluded Storage Vision 2015, Western Digital demonstrated a prototype of its 3.5-inch hybrid drive, which consists of a 4TB hard drive along with a 128GB solid state drive (SSD).
The Western Digital Hybrid Drive utilized a SATA Express PCI-e interface solution to achieve flexibility and several configuration options for single-volume caching and RAID. Heavy desktop users will benefit a lot for it is capable of holding up to 128GB of cache files across multiple applications.

In terms of PCMark8 benchmark (photo above), it scored 4459, which is two times faster than regular 4TB HDD and more than 30 percent snappier that existing 4TB or 2TB hybrid drive. But, what is more amazing is that the result is a near-SSD performance. This makes the 4TB WD SSHD a great alternative to SSD for a price that is way cheaper.
No mention yet about its availability, but they made sure it will come out within this year.
