May of this year, we reported that the Ding Ding Technology will enter the Philippine market as an independent entity and the Ding Ding SK1 is their first ever smartphone to land locally.

However, after several weeks, they temporarily deactivated their Facebook page and left us no reason why they did so.  Immediately after that, SKK Mobile started to tease something on their Facebook page and a few days after, they finally revealed that Ding Ding will be part of the family as their "premium" brand.

For those who are not familiar with this name, it is a brand owned by Shenzhen Bravo Technology Co., Ltd, a Chinese company that manufactures and produces mobile devices. At first, they are selling their products to different companies, which in turns "re-brand" them. One of their clients is SKK Mobile with their device called Ding Ding SK3 or locally known as the SKK Mobile V2.

Going back to the SK1, it sports a 4.5-inch display with FWVGA resolution powered by 1GHz dual core processor coupled with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of expandable storage. Ding Ding claims that it is the world's smallest 4.5-inch smartphone, and based on our experience and comparison with other devices of similar size, we can say that it is indeed the smallest.

To know more about its physical appearance, interface and the contents of the retail package, you can watch the video we prepared below.

Unboxing and Hands-on Video

If you watched the video above, I mentioned that it does not have app drawer, but after having more time playing with it, I found out that it does have one. The app drawer is located in the lower right of the home screen, just above the back capacitive key.

Based on our initial impression, it is really a compact smartphone for its size. In fact, it feels like you are holding a 4-inch phone instead of 4.5-inch device. It is very comfortable to hold and use with just one hand. With only Antutu and CPU-Z installed on-top of pre-loaded applications, navigating through the interface are still responsive. Speaking of Antutu, it scored about 11K, which is typical for an Android phone with dual core processor.
