|Ideaspace-backed TheKard Inc. Launches the Mobkard App, A Location-based Loyalty Mobile Application|
TheKard Inc., the company behind the location-based loyalty mobile application Mobkard, has announced that it successfully raised a new 17 million pesos funding from the country's leading digital signage advertising provider, Globaltronics Inc.
The new round of funding allows the company to expand the reach of the Mobkard, a mobile-based application that interactively allows customers who are using the app to receive exclusive perks and privileges in real time as they approach a certain location. Currently, the company has over 300 merchant partners in the Philippines and with the help from Globaltronics funding, it is expected to grow even more. Some of the biggest names in their current roster, include LayBare, 360 Fitness Club, Vans, Nurture Wellness Spa, MedExpress, Bizu Patisserie, Dillinger's and Sunglass Haven.

Francis Uy, President and CEO of TheKard Inc., is very confident that they will reach 60 percent smartphone penetration before the year ends. He also mentioned that after they established their foothold in the country, they will expand the business to neighboring countries, in fact, they are now having talks with different merchants and company in Singapore.
