As is the case, watching films and television shows are confined to a flat screen and the living room, that it beats the fun out of it when you’re looking for an adventure. On the other hand, BenQ has something in mind. The company has just announced its GS1 portable projector. As its name suggests, it’s a portable projector that you can bring with you, making it a perfect companion during those trips in the great outdoors.

The GS1 comes with smart capabilities to let its users connect their smartphones, allowing them to share the content on their handsets and play it directly with the projector. That’s 60 inches of screen for you to enjoy. It also comes with built-in USB readers so you can plug in your external drives and watch movies directly from them. As far as the battery life is concerned, the GS1 promise 3 hours of battery life, which is probably enough for two films at best.

Of course, since the GS1 is designed for outdoor use, it comes with a standard rubber case that allows it to withstand drops and water splashes so you won’t have to worry about the hazards whenever you’re watching in the garden or when you’re camping.

At the moment, there’s still no word as to how much BenQ’s portable projector would cost. Either way, something like this would be nice to have if you’re looking to ramp up your digital entertainment even while you’re away.
