|Google Reportedly Halting Project Ara Development|
Google’s ambitious modular smartphone dream, Project Ara, has been the talk of the town ever since news regarding it surfaced. A modular smartphone that lets its users swap out parts whenever they wish to upgrade or simply just to replace a broken piece of hardware is easily a dream come true for tech savvy users who desire to get the latest out of everything at the most cost-efficient way possible. Now, new reports suggest that the search engine giant has suspended its efforts in further developing the concept.
This is more of a blow for people that are interested in the concept, since Google had revealed that a Developer Edition for Project Ara was on the way. On the other hand, a report from Reuters indicates that Google just suspended Project Ara, and the move is “part of a broader push to streamline the company’s hardware efforts.”

While there seems to be something brewing on Google’s headquarters for the development of Project Ara, there are still other concept smartphones and other projects that promise the beauty of modularity. Still, Google’s ambition has become the mainstream target, and that would definitely put the development of the concept halted with the search engine giant out of the game if that is indeed the case.
