|Apple Developing In-House Graphics Chip for Next iPhone|
Apple has notified Imagination Technologies that it will no longer be using the British chip designer's intellectual property in less than two year's time since the company is already working on its very own independent graphics design.
For many years, Apple has used Imagination's intellectual property on its iPhones, iPads, TVs, iPods, and watches. In a recent statement, however, the chip designer revealed that Apple is finally making a move "to control its products" and lower its reliance on the other company.

Apple has already found success in developing its own CPU design with the ARM-based processor cores. If things go as planned, we may be seeing Apple's very own GPU design on the next iPhone as early as next year.
Nonetheless, Imagination Technologies is doubtful that Apple would be able to come up with a chip technology without violating its patents since the latter was unable to provide any evidence that will validate its assertion of no longer requiring Imagination's technology.
Imagination says that both parties are actively discussing "potential alternative commercial arrangements" to prevent a patent battle.
