Andy Rubin's Essential Phone with Edge-to-Edge Screen Unveiled

Andy Rubin's Essential Phone with Edge-to-Edge Screen Unveiled

Andy Rubin, one of Google's Android creators, has officially unveiled his very own high-end Essential Phone with a unique aesthetic.

The Essential Phone, which we first had a glimpse of in late March this year, runs on Android operating system. As we suspected, the phone flaunts a very interesting aesthetic with a screen that stretches across almost the entire front of the device and with minimal bezel. Also, there's no logo on the exterior of the phone.

Inside its shell, which is made of aluminum and ceramic, is the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

For the camera, the Essential Phone takes on the dual camera setup that is similar to that of Huawei's P9 and P10 and it is to have the ability to take better low-light pictures. It is equipped with two 13-megapixel cameras on the back and an 8-megapixel front camera that can capture 4K video.

Moreover, Essential will be providing add-on accessories such as a 360-degree camera that can be attached on top of the phone as well as a charging dock. Both accessories can be connected to the phone using the small metal pogo pins at the back of the device.

The Essential Phone is now on sale in the US for USD699 or about Php35K.
