Apple Acquires Sleep Tracking Company Beddit

Apple Acquires Sleep Tracking Company Beddit

Apple has acquired the sleep tracking company called Beddit. The announcement was made through the updated privacy section of the Finnish technology firm's website, stating the acquisition.

The terms of the deal have not been fully disclosed yet, but it was noted that Beddit's consumer data is now subject to Apple's own privacy policy.

Beddit's revised privacy policy states:

Beddit has been acquired by Apple. Your personal data will be collected, used and disclosed in accordance with the Apple Privacy Policy.

Apple and Beddit have been in partnership prior to the acquisition. In fact, the former has been selling Beddit products on the Apple Store since late 2015.

The latest device available on the Apple Store is the Beddit 3 Sleep Monitor that is being sold for USD149. The device is a sensor-equipped strip that you can slide under your sheet and it will automatically track your sleep. It doesn't require a tracker so you can rest better.

Apple hasn't released any official statement regarding this latest news yet. But, with this acquisition, we see possibilities of Apple making use of the sleep tracking company's software in its future products.
