ASUS Unveils ZenBook Pro UX550 with Kaby Lake CPU and 4K Display at Computex 2017

Aiming to push beyond the edge, ASUS launched the new ZenBook Pro UX550 that comes with powerful specs and a stunning 4K touchscreen display at Computex 2017.

A revamp to the original ZenBook Pro that was launched over two years ago, the new ZenBook Pro UX550 comes with the same outstanding 15.6-inch 4K display, although it now comes with much better processing power.

ASUS' new laptop sports Intel's top Kaby Lake CPU (Core i5-7300HQ and Core i7-7700HQ options) and NVIDIA's GTX 1050 Ti graphics card with dedicated 4K HEVC support that can be configured with up to 16GB DDR4 RAM and 1TB PCIe x4 SSD. Also, it now has two USB Type-C ports with Thunderbolt 3 support and one full-size HDMI 1.4 port.

The new ZenBook Pro is surprisingly light and thin as well if you pit it against its competitors with almost similar specs at only1.8kg heavy and 18.9mm thick. Meanwhile, the 15.6-inch NanoEdge 4K display has a slimmer bezel at 7.33mm and a 178-degree viewing angle.

In terms of its battery capacity, it now has a 73WHr Li-Polymer battery that can last up to 14 hours with fast charging technology that allows it to charge from zero to 60 percent in only 49 minutes. It also features Harman/Kardon audio technology.

The ASUS ZenBook Pro is set for a July launch this year with the price starting at USD1,299 or about Php65K.
