DJI recently revealed the features and specifications of its newest drone, the DJI Goggles – a first-person view (FPV) system that offers a seamless bird’s eye view of the world in Full HD.

It combines a pair of large ultra-high-quality screens, long-range and low latency wireless connectivity, and direct control of photo and video capture. With the use of Mavic Pro or Phantom 4 series drone, operators can also access many intelligent flight features using a touchpad on the side of the visor.

To prevent any image overlap, it uses a beam splitter to display an image in front of each eye and polarization, creating a full HD 1920x1080 resolution per screen. Through DJI’s OcuSync wireless transmission system, up to two pairs of DJI Goggles can be connected to a single Mavic Pro aircraft.

It can also receive video data directly from the drone bypassing the controller to minimize lag. Users may even enjoy a fully immersive experience, and total control with its integrated touchpad that provides easy access to key intelligent flight features such as Active Track, TapFly, Terrain Follow, Cinematic Mode, and Tripod Mode.

With a maximum battery life of six hours, DJI Goggles will start shipping after May 20, and will have a retail price of USD 449.
