LG's V series has been well received since its start in 2015. The V series has a premium build plus it was innovative due to the second screen found on the upper part of the device. The next in line here is the LG V30.

The LG V30 packs a mean punch with the Snapdragon 835, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage and 3.300mAh battery. A standard spec sheet for a 2017 flagship, however, additional 2GB of RAM would be most welcome. By the way, there is another variant called the V30 Plus, which is basically the same thing, except for the 128GB native storage instead of 64GB.

The V20 was lacking in one department and that is lacking any kind of water resistance. The V30 throws that worry out of the window by sporting an IP68 rating. It is both dust and water proof and we say it is about time. However, there is a trade-off here, the phone needs to be sealed, which means no more replaceable battery.

The recently announced LG V30 seems to be going with the trend this year by sporting an 18:9 6-inch P-OLED display. It has a close to bezel-less screen, an already given factor, since the LG G6 also has that kind of aspect ratio, which is simply just gorgeous. However, this means we have to say goodbye to the second screen.

The V30 also has a great dual camera setup boasting an f/1.6 16MP sensor with OIS and phase/laser AF + f/1.9 13MP sensor. LG also said that they are adapting a Crystal Clear Lens which much clearer than the normal plastic lenses. The selfie camera is also capable with an f/2.2 5MP 1/5 inch wide angle lens.

LG still kept the focus on audio with the V series by including a HiFi Quad DAC to the V30. The DAC is fine-tuned by B&O play. You will be able to enjoy your lossless music files to their full glory here. In addition to that, you are also going to be able to record HiFi audio as well. It will also be the first device to support MQA audio that allows you to stream lossless audio in a very small size.

The LG V30 seems to be a pretty legitimate contender to be the top phone of 2017. What do you guys think?
