| MPTC Launches E-Payment Options in NLEX, CAVITEX and SCTEX |
In partnership with PayMaya Philippines, Easy Trip Services Corp., and AF Payments, Inc. (AFPI), Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) recently launched its digital tollways program to enlighten motorists about the new electronic payment options in NLEX, CAVITEX, and SCTEX.
Motorists traversing NLEX can now pay their tollway fees through Easy Trip RFID, beep cards, and Mastercard contactless debit, prepaid, and credit cards, including their Smart Mastercard powered by PayMaya.
For CAVITEX and SCTEX, Mastercard acceptance will roll out soon.

According to MPTC Chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan, the said initiative is very much aligned with the National Retail Payment System program of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas that targets to transform 20% of the Philippines’ payment transactions to electronic by 2020.
"Enabling electronic transactions in the tollways is a key contributor in growing electronic money usage as thousands of motorists use our expressways every day. With this initiative, we are offering Filipinos more options that can suit their lifestyle and personal preferences," Rodrigo E. Franco, Metro Pacific Tollways President and CEO, said.
Also, MPTC claimed that these new digital payment options will upgrade tollways operations in the country, where consumers can enjoy faster, more secure, and more convenient electronic transactions.
