Teaming up with Department of Information and Communications Technology and the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), the SECURE GovNet project eyes to build the Luzon bypass Infrastructure, which will improve the speed, affordability, and accessibility of broadband internet in the country.

According to a report, BCDA will lead the construction of the Luzon Bypass Infrastructure, which will have two cable landing stations that are linked by a 250-km cable network corridor. This infrastructure will allow direct connections from Luzon to internet hubs in the United States and Asia.

Meanwhile, Facebook will build and operate a submarine cable system that is connected in the cable stations on the East and West Coasts of Luzon, too.
