Starting January 5, 2018, all load denominations amounting to PHP300 and above will have a one year expiration period. Amounts below PHP300 will be adapting the changes after the 6 month period provided by the DICT.

That 6 month period will be used by Globe to accommodate all the changes they need to implement in their systems. They want to make sure that the transition to the one year expiration period for all denominations will be done seamlessly.

They said that among the changes they need to implement are the following:

1. Expansion of Capacity - According to Globe, in order to implement the one year expiration period across all amounts, they need more capacity. They also need to acquire licenses and software programming from third party companies.

2. System Tests - They also stated that they need to test every aspect of their systems so that they can ensure that their customers will experience little to no impact on their services.

3. Additional Number Series - Lastly, they need to acquire additional numbers from the NTC in order implement the changes fully. There is a possibility that they could run out of numbers due to the longer load validity. They also need to check and test the additional number series before making them available to the public.

What do you guys think?
