DTC Mobile GT15 Astroid Fiesta |
The GT15 Astroid Fiesta is currently the largest smartphone that DTC Mobile released in the market. It has a massive 6-inch capacitive screen powered by a quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM.
There are people like me who loves gigantic phone and for that reason alone, global and local brands are venturing on phablets. Today, you can find at least one phablet in almost every mobile brand.

HARDWARE:
Front |
The front has a strong similarity with devices from Samsung, it is mainly occupied with its huge screen, Below the display we can find the physical Home key in between the capacitive Menu and Back keys. The hidden sensor and the secondary camera are located on the right side of the earpiece grill above the screen.
Back |
The back is made of plastic and the outer shell feels rubbery which adds up to a better grip on the device. The main camera is located on the upper part and directly below it is the LED flash followed by the Fiesta logo. On the lower left, we have the loud speaker grill and above it towards the right is the DTC logo.
Slots |
To remove the back plate, you need to locate first the slit (near the power key) and start from there. Once removed, you can now have access to the regular SIM, micro SIM and micros SD slots.
Left |
Right |
The left has the volume key while the right side has the power/lock key.
Top |
Bottom |
The top houses the 3.5mm audio jack while the bottom has the micro USB port and the microphone pin hold.
The phone is quite big, most of the time, you will need both of your hands to operate or use it. The metal around the sides adds contrast to its black tone, giving it more appeal. The overall aesthetic is great, the design is nice and the build quality is superb.
DISPLAY:
5-point touch |
The 6-inch capacitive touchscreen display is made from IPS panel, the viewing angles are really wide and it supports up to 5-point finger touch. There is no protective glass that is why the pre-installed screen protector is very much appreciated.
SENSORS:
Sensors |
The basic sensors inside the Astroid Fiesta are the Acceleromer, Proximity and Light. These sensors are very useful in day to day usage of your mobile phone. You can verify if all of them are working via the CPU-Z you see above or using the Android Sensor Box downloadable via Play Store.

In the heart of the GT15 is a 1.2GHz MediaTek MT6589 quad-core processor, this is the SoC which dominated the 2013 flagships and we know it is a very capable one. The benchmark results above are typical for a device using this kind of chipset and coupled with 1GB of RAM.
