SKK Mobile Cyclops 2 |
The SKK Mobile Cyclops 2 has almost everything you can think of a mobile device, it is a tablet with full phone functionality and 3G mobile data connectivity plus Analog TV. The WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS are all on board and it also supports USB OTG for connecting external devices like mouse and keyboard.
CPU-Z |
At the heart of the device is a dual core MediaTek MT6582 processor clocked at 1.3GHz each, Mali-400 GPU and 512MB of RAM. Internal storage is only 4GB, but it can be further expanded up to 32GB via the micro SD slot.

HARDWARE:
Front |
The front houses the 7-inch display, the earpiece grill and the secondary camera.
Back |
Micro SD & SIM Slots |
The white portion of the back is the only removable part of the device, here you will find the micro SD and the SIM card slots.
Left |
Right |
The right has all the control buttons (volume rocker and power key) while the left of the tablet is bare.
Top |
The top holds the micro USB port and the 3.5mm audio jack while the telescopic Antenna is placed on the right edge.
Bottom |
The bottom has almost nothing except the microphone pin hole.
The overall design is quite impressive despite of being a budget tablet. The build quality is also solid and feels tough, everything fits tightly and you won't hear any squeaking sound when using it. Handling wise, you can hold it by just one hand when making calls.
DISPLAY:
Display - Portray |
Display - Landscape |
5-point touch |
The Cyclops II has a 7-inch capacitive 5-point touch display with WSVGA (1024x600) resolution, there is no protective glass so better install a screen protector to avoid any unwanted scratches.
SENSOR:
Sensor |
The only sensor in this SKK phone-tablet is the accelerometer.
BENCHMARKS:
Antutu 12,395 |
Quadrant 3899 |
NenaMark2 53.2fps |
Vellamo HTML 1881 & Metal 464 |
The box shows that is has a 1.2GHz dual core processor, however, upon checking on Antutu benchmark and CPU-Z, it has a slightly higher frequency (1.3GHz). Another interesting discovery is that the chipset is not a MediaTek MT6572, but instead a MT6582, which as far as I know is a quad-core SoC.

The Cyclops 2 surprisingly emerged on top of every benchmark I run compared to the previous dual core smartphones we reviewed in the past. We never thought it would achieve such results, especially that it has the highest screen resolution among them.
INITIAL VERDICT:
The SKK Mobile Cyclops 2 is very versatile device, it can be your all-in-one mobile device at a very affordable price tag. Based on the benchmark results, we can safely say that it can perform at par, if not even better than other dual-core devices that we reviewed. The dual core processor and 512MB RAM are a proven combination in terms of performance.
