SKK Mobile Griffin Unboxing, Preview And Initial Impression |
INTRODUCTION:
As time goes by, quad-core devices are getting cheaper and cheaper. Recently, SKK Mobile released one of the cheapest - the Griffin which cost only Php3,599.
CPU Z Info |
The Griffin sports a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen display powered by MediaTek MT6582 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz each. The ROM is 4GB with expandable storage up to 32GB while the RAM is 512MB. Connectivity wise, it has dual SIM slots which support 3G connectivity, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS.
UNBOXING:
Retail Package |
Unboxing Video
The retail package consists of the unit, battery, charger with detachable USB cable, wired headset, manual and warranty card.
HARDWARE:
Front |
The 4-inch display mainly dominates the device front, the capacitive keys are located below it while the secondary camera and earpiece grill are located above it.
- Back |
The back cover is made of plastic, it is quite prone to smudges and fingerprints. The main camera is located in the upper part and to its left is the loudspeaker grill.
Battery, Micro SD and SIM Slots |
Removing the back plate will reveal the micro SD and SIM slots as well as the battery compartment. Speaking of battery, the one used by the Griffin has a 1400mAh capacity.
Left |
Right |
On the left of the device you will find the power/lock key while on its right is the volume rocker.
Top |
Bottom |
The 3.5mm audio jack and the micro USB port are both located on the top while at the bottom you will see the microphone pin hole and the slit for opening/removing the back cover.
If you read either my Glimpse or Glimpse 3G review, you already know that they resembles, if the not the same design. Actually, I think they are actually identical in the outside.
DISPLAY:
2-point touch |
The touchscreen display supports only 2-point touch, the screen itself is made of ordinary panel, and if you watched the Unboxing video, you probably noticed that it has less viewing angles.
SENSOR:
Sensor |
The only sensor inside this device is the accelerometer.
BENCHMARKS:
Antutu 17188 |
Quadrant 5968 |
NenaMark2 48.7fps |
Vellamo HTML 1852 & Metal 571 |
The benchmark results are pretty impressive, scores are quite high.
