ADATA PV100 4200mAh Power Bank Review: Power On The Go |
INTRODUCTION:
Power bank these days is becoming an essential part of people on the go that depends on their mobile devices for work and even for social activities.
Most of the time we get frustrated when we run out of battery especially when there is something important that needs to be done. Let us face the fact that we do not usually bring our charger and even if we do, we do not have the access to a power outlet.
I had several power bank in the past, but for today's review we will focus with the ADATA PV100. It sports an ultra-slim 8-inch waistline and has 4200mAh capacity. It also boasts a 6-way protection, namely overcharge, over-discharge, over-temperature, short circuit, over-voltage and over-current.
UNBOXING:
Box Front |
Box Back |
The front of the packaging gives you of a good view of the unit along with its main features while the back shows its specifications and other information.
Retail Package |
The retail package consists of the power bank itself, a USB cable and user manual. There is no charger included, but you can use any micro USB charger with an output rating of 5V DC/1A.
HARDWARE:
Front |
Back |
The unit is rectangular in shape and have curved edges, its size is similar to a 4-inch phone, let say Nokia X. The front is glossy finish, here you can find the power button and the four LED lights that indicate how much power it has (25% per light). The back on the other hand as well as all the sides are made of aluminum.
Sides |
The USB output and micro USB input are both located at the top, all the remaining sides are kept bare. Overall, the PV100 feels solid and because it is 8mm thin, it is very pocket friendly.
PERFORMANCE:
PV100 and MyPhone Rio |
I fully charge first the PV100 before I used it, as a test subject I used MyPhone Rio which has 2000mAh battery. From 15% to 100% it took about 1 hour and 20 minutes and surprisingly the PV100 still shows 3 LED lights. I repeat the process with the remaining charge of PV100 and the power bank still managed to fully charge the phone for the second time around.
CONCLUSION:
The ADATA PV100 4200mAh power bank is not just stylish it also delivers as promised, it can recharge a phone with 2000mAh battery twice. Its slim profile makes it very portable and handling more comfortable.
