We got our first impressions on the Asus Zenphone 4 and 5 more than two weeks ago during the closed-door media event. At that time we also want to try the Zenfone 6, however, it was not available. Luckily, we were able to attend the official launching and managed to get our hands on the biggest Zenfone yet.

The Zenfone 6 sports a 6-inch IPS HD touchscreen display powered by an Intel Atom Z3560 dual core processor clocked at 1.6GHz each coupled with 2GB of RAM. It runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, but it will have Android 4.4 KitKat update soon.

Front & back

The front is mainly occupied by the 6-inch display, the left and right bezels are just about the right size. Above the screen you will find the ASUS branding, earpiece grill, hidden sensors and secondary camera. The back has a matte finish, here you can find the 13MP main camera accompanied by an LED flash and another ASUS marking below it.

The left side was kept bare while the right side holds both the volume rocker and the power/lock button.

The 3.5mm audio jack and the secondary microphone are located at the top while the primary microphone and the micro USB port are both placed at the bottom of the device.

Design wise, it is pretty much the same with its two smaller siblings, it is simple yet elegant. Handling wise, it has good ergonomics that helped as operate it with just one hand, although we still recommend that both hands are put to use when navigating through its UI. Speaking of UI, the Zen UI is very much smooth and as expected no lag encountered.

Antutu - 20,169
Quadrant - 8,139
NenaMark2 - 60.2fps

The results are pretty impressive and surpass the scores of several devices that uses quad core MediaTek MT6589, MediaTek MT6582 and even Snapdragon chipset. This proves that the dual core Intel processor combined with Hyper Threading technology is a raw power in terms of computing performance. We used that phone for several minutes and we can say that it has fluid UI transition, good display and capable main camera.
