Representing the U.S., team Evil Geniuses (EG) is named as the first ever Manila Masters grand champion – the country’s biggest DOTA 2 tournament backed by PLDT Home Fibr and Smart Communications, which was held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Team EG is composed of Artour Babaev (Arteezy), Sumail Hassan (Suma1L), Saahil Arora (UNiVeRsE), Ludwig Wåhlberg (zai), and Andreas Nielsen (Cr1t).
The team battled with Team Newbee of China, who only won one game in the best of five grand finals. With this, Team EG brought home the USD 125, 000 grand prize.

The tournament gathered gamers, fans and enthusiasts to watch eight world’s best DOTA 2 teams clashing for the crown. The teams include Team Secret, OG, Invictus Gaming, Team NP, Faceless, and Clutch Gamers – our country’s representative.

As sponsors of Manila Masters 2017, the biggest eSports tournament, both PLDT Home Fibr and Smart offered its subscribers an upgraded gaming experience, as it gave away tickets, streamed the tournament online, and prizes at the event.

Fans can go through again the tournament with Smart’s official coverage and exclusive photos on its Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts.
