Grab Introduces New In-App Emergency Button |
There are three ways to access the Emergency button. First, inside the app, you can click the three bars located at the top left corner of the screen, which will open the side menu, where you'll see the new Emergency feature.
Second, you can click the red Emergency button that will appear on the top right corner of the screen when in transit mode. Third and last, you can go to the driver profile screen where you'll see the same Emergency button.
Once tapped, the new in-app safety feature will dial 911 and immediately connect you to the authorities. Apart from 911, you can also choose to call or text Patrol 117 or dial 143 for the Philippine Red Cross.
Grab stresses out that the Emergency button should only be pressed "in the unlikely event of an emergency." An example is when you or your driver is in danger. Prank callers will be dealt accordingly.
