Firefly Mobile X622 Now in Stores, 10-Core Android Marshmallow for Php6,999

Firefly Mobile releases two new devices this September without any proper introduction, which seems to be the norm for them these days. Both devices are way better than their previous smartphone offerings, and can be considered as their flagship phones. One of them is simply called X622.

The Firefly Mobile X622 sports a 5.5-inch screen with Full HD resolution, which translates to about 403 pixels per inch, giving users impressive display for video consumption and  everyday use. Underneath its aluminum body is the world's first deca-core mobile chipset, the MediaTek Helio X20 with two Cortex-A72 CPU cores clocked up to 2.3GHz each plus eight Cortex-A53 CPU cores with frequencies of up to 2GHz, paired with quad core ARM Mali-T880 graphics. Memory wise, the 3GB RAM is assigned to handle multitasking, while the 32GB ROM is all it has for your storage needs.

Meanwhile, the optics in X622 are great too, at least on paper, sporting a 16MP main camera with 5p lens construction, PDAF for faster focusing on any subject, an f-stop of f/2.0 and dual LED flash for low-light capability. Moreover, the rear shooter is also capable of recording videos up to 4K resolution. On the other side, the front-facing snapper is equipped with 8-megapixel sensor, especially made for capturing great selfies.

The X622 has also the ability to play lossless audio through its USB Type-C port (sorry, no 3.5mm audio jack), thanks to its custom chip and Continual Digital Lossless Audio technology.

One of the notables specs is its 3000mAh battery that supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. You may wonder how is this possible as the X622 SoC is made by Mediatek. Contrary to the beliefs of many, QC 3.0 is not exclusive to Qualcomm chipsets. The mobile chip maker also created independent integrated circuits for non-Qualcomm devices, these are the SMB1350 and SMB1351 Quick Charge 3.0 Battery Charger ICs. Don't believe us? Ask Google!

By the way, we are able to play with the handset, and found out that it is the LeTV LeEco Le S3 X622. And, you know what? LeEco logo is still etched on the back of the phone, it seems that Firefly Mobile does not even care, and didn't bother to put their logo or at least remove what is not theirs.

It is now available for Php6,999, and as a heads-up, there is no free item of any kind, no tempered glass and no phone case that are usually bundled with other Firefly Mobile devices. If you want to get it for a cheaper price, Lazada is also selling it online for just Php5,338. But, be mindful that TOMTOP, the Lazada Seller, does not give any kind of warranty, which simply means that you are on your own when the X622 breaks or get damaged in the future. So, if you want warranty and peace of mind, better buy it from Firefly Mobile.
