| Huawei Nova 2 Lite Hands-on and Initial Impression; Too Good for the Price? |
On that note, here’s our initial take on the Nova 2 Lite!
PHYSICAL:
The first time we met the Nova 2 Lite, we’re sure that it shares almost the same face as the Nova 2i. Just like the latter, the toned-down variant boasts a 5.99-inch HD+ 18:9 display with 2.5D curved glass. The device flaunts a polycarbonate body, which might sport either glossy or matte-like finish. In our case, we received a black matte-like handset.
The device is big at 158.3 x 76.7 x 7.8mm, but it isn’t too heavy as it only weighs 155 grams. One-hand usage is possible, but a solid grip is still needed due to its size. The handset also looks good in black, as it flaunts a simple but a premium-looking design. Its body doesn’t attract fingerprints that much, as well.

While its front is dominated by its 5.99-inch screen, its 8-megapixel shooter, sensor and earpiece is located above the panel.

The device uses an on-screen navigation keys, so, the brand just placed its company's branding on the space located below the display.

| Volume Rocker and Power/Lock Key |
Its volume rocker and power/lock key are placed on the right side, while its SIM card tray is sited on the left. It can accommodate two nano-sized SIM cards and has another slot for your microSD card, too.

The top portion of the device is unoccupied, while its bottom part welcomes the loudspeaker, microUSB port, microphone, and the 3.5mm audio port.

| 13MP + 2MP Rear Cameras |
Flip the device on its back to reveal its protruding 13-megapixel + 2-megapixel rear cameras along with its LED flash. If you’re familiar with the Nova 2i, you’d know that even if it also sports a dual-rear camera setup, the two smartphones have a different camera design as Nova 2 Lite's cameras are now placed horizontally, compared to the Nova 2i’s sensors that are designed vertically.

Meanwhile, its fingerprint scanner is still thoughtfully located where your finger can easily reach it.

INITIAL IMPRESSION:
So far, the Nova 2 Lite impresses us with its 5.99-inch HD+ IPS screen. Having a 1440 x 720 resolution and giving an 18:9 aspect ratio, we’ve been enjoying its display when we’re watching videos, playing games, or when we’re simply using it indoors and outdoors. It has good viewing angles and brightness level, too.

Meanwhile, we took some first shots in Bohol to try its camera performance. Both cameras performed well. You can check it here.
Packed with Snapdragon 430 chip and Adreno 505 graphics, the device is also coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. With this, we’re having a smooth experience, so far.
The Huawei Nova 2 Lite is priced at Php9,990, and will be available for pre-order beginning March 14 to March 23, 2018.
Really, we're sure that the Nova 2 Lite is ready to face its competition.
