During the said press event, the company noted that they posted Php33.2-billion consolidated service revenues for the first three months of the year.

Moreover, Globe Executives explained that service revenues benefited from the demand for data-related products across all segments, noting that the rise in consumption for video streaming and on-demand entertainment became more visible, too.

As large numbers of Globe customers adopt the digital lifestyle, their mobile revenues reached Php25.5-billion due to the increasing demand for data, as well. The brand highlighted that its mobile subscriber base reached 63.3-million as of end-March 2018, which indicates an 8% growth from the 58.6-million subscribers reported in the same period last year.

“From a product perspective, mobile data remains the top contributor to local mobile revenues, accounting for 48 percent. Mobile data service revenues reached Php12.3-billion in the first quarter of the year. Mobile data traffic grew 37% from 131PB last year to 180PB in the first quarter of 2018, given the increasing appetite for video-on-demand and multi-media content. Mobile SMS and mobile voice revenues, on the other hand, reached Php770 million,” Globe addressed.

Globe also posted Php4.3 billion revenues for its home broadband business, Php2.6 billion for corporate business, and Php770 million for traditional fixed line voice revenues.

On the other hand, the telco giant spent around Php6.6-billion in capital expenditures (CapEx) during the same period to support the growing subscriber base, and its demand for data.
