| Huawei Mate 20 is “Extremely Powerful” Device! Powered by Kirin 980 or 1020 Chip? |
Although Mr. Jim Xu hasn’t revealed much information about its upcoming smartphone, he teased us that the premium handset will be “extremely powerful” device as it will pack a new chip.
Huawei is known for manufacturing its own chipset — also known as Kirin. Last year, it introduced the Kirin 970, an AI-ready processor. Powerful enough to boost the Mate 10 series and P20 line, it might no longer be present on the Mate 20. And that’s not a bad news after all.

There are rumors that came out last April, wherein the Huawei Mate 20 will be powered by so-called Kirin 980, which outperforms Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 chip in Antutu. However, there is another rumor circulated in the tech scene earlier this June, wherein Huawei is working on Kirin 1020 chip with twice as powerful as the Kirin 970.
We all know the capabilities of the Kirin 970, and if the Huawei Mate 20 series will be geared with a new and more powerful one, whether it is Kirin 980 or 1020, then, we can expect that it is set to offer a more beast-like features.
