Sony announces that the newest addition to the Cyber-shot RX100 series, the RX100 VI with model number DSC-RX100M6, is arriving in the Philippines this August 4, 2018. It boasts high magnification zoom lens, that is 24-200mm, with the world's fastest 0.03-second auto focus speed.

Being the sixth generation of the series, RX100 VI still maintains the compact and pocket-size body and 1.0-type stacked 20.1MP Exmor RS CMOS image sensor of its predecessors. However, it is first in the series to have high magnification lens as its includes a powerhouse ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T* 24-200mm1 F2.8 – F4.5 lens.

Sony combined both 24-70mm and 70-200mm focal lengths in this camera paired with large aperture, making it a very versatile companion in shooting different scenarios, from portrait, sports, wildlife, and everything in between. Users can now say “no more” to blur images and camera shake, thanks to its built-in Optical SteadyShot image stabilization, which is equivalent to 4.0-stop faster shutter speed.

Sony also claims that the RX100 VI has the fastest autofocus speed in the world with only 0.03 seconds. This is made possible with 315 focal-plane phase-detection points that covers 65% of the sensor, contrast-detection AF, and the popular Eye AF technology.

The RX100 VI is capable of recording videos up to 4K resolution with full pixel readout and no pixel binning. It also offers 4K HDR compatibility for improved color quality because of its new HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) picture profile. Moreover, it can record super slow-motion videos at either 240fps, 480fps or 960fps.

Another major upgrade in the RX100 VI is its touch screen panel. Majority of RX100 series users have been waiting for it since the first installment, and finally the wait is over. It features an on-screen shutter, touch focus and control, and a zoom lever with customizable zoom speeds. These touch menus give users added convenience when operating the camera.

Connectivity wise, the RX100 VI has built-in WiFi, NFC and Bluetooth.

Sony perfectly combined all the specifications in RX100 VI to give a top-notch accuracy of getting the best quality image that the RX100 series has retained over the past years. So, if this is the compact camera for you, it is better to pre-order yours from July 14 to August 3 to receive a free extra battery kit and 64GB memory card. To avail the promo, visit the participating Sony centers and authorized dealers near you and settle the non-refundable Php 4,000 down-payment. Just take note that there is no official announcement yet on its SRP, but based on the asking price of its predecessor, the RX-100 V, which is Php56,999, you already have an idea, more or less.

With its high magnification zoom lens, versatile aperture, compact design, world's fastest AF speed and 4K Movie Shooting technology it's not a bad deal, right?
