From 132 entries representing 21 schools across Cebu and Metro Manila, Accenture has crowned Team Coop of Cebu Institute of Technology University as the winner of its Program The Future 2018 campus challenge.

Team Coop has battled out other finalists through its Tingog entry, which aims to work as an educator, business, and fun-raising platform. The project eyes to bridge the gap between NGOs who need funds, children who are learning how to read, and people who are willing to help through Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Veracity, and Frictionless Business. With this, children in remote areas will have a chance to have a foundation and source of proper education.

Accenture also gave a special award to other finalists. Team Aid 2.0 of the University of San Carlos has received the Accenture’s Tech Vision prize for its entry tagged as the Tactus: Tactile text to Braille glove for the blind. This agenda aims to create a glove-camera device that converts text into Braille feedback onto the fingertip through AI and IoT. The glove is portable, wearable, and affordable to make sure that it will change the way how the blind connects with the world.

Meanwhile, Team Masigasig of Sumulong College of Arts and Sciences brought home the Tech’s Choice award for its FloodTech entry. It is a technology solution that aims to monitor and manage the drainage system in urban areas. Their innovation includes a software application that can be used as a signal for the clogged drainage distributed in each selected location.

Team Coop has bagged Php300,000 to push for its project, whileTeam Aid 2.0 and Team Masigasig received Php50,000 and Php10,000, respectively.

Other finalists include Team AI of Cebu Institute of Technology University; Team Amigos of University of San Jose Recoletos; Team Repository Blues of the University of the Philippines – Cebu; Team Untwist of Technological Institute of the Philippines; Team Berners Lee of National University; Team ICO of De La Salle University; and Team Where is ROG? of the University of the Philippines – Diliman.

The Accenture Technology Campus Challenge is an annual competition that pushes Filipino college and university students to think out of the box and come up with innovative ideas that will change the way how society works.
