Tagged with an expensive asking price, Samsung didn’t compensate the Galaxy Note9’s camera offerings that were first found on its Galaxy S9 smartphone series. Having a little upgrade from the S9 line, would this be enough for consumers who are looking for a camera phone?

The Note9 loads a dual-rear camera setup composed of 12-megapixel (f/1.5f/2.4) sensor and 12-megapixel f/2.4 telephoto lens. Its main shooters have Dual Pixel autofocus, Dual OIS, multi-frame with dual tone LED flash.

Jumping off to its selfie snapper, the Note9 carries a decent 8-megapixel f/1.7 camera that sports AF, wide-angle lens, and screen flash.

Samsung equips the Note9 with 20 different scene recognition capabilities to deliver the best photo quality. It can detect, people, food, scenery, animals, and more. With this, it allows consumers to take professional-looking images with a natural-looking effect.

To make your mobile photography experience better, the Note9 comes with more AR emojis, Pro mode, HDR, panorama, and live focus modes.

During our initial test, its rear cameras could really deliver a great performance. What we like the most about it, the Galaxy Note9 features an A.I. detection that automatically adjusts its colors depending on what it detects. However, compared to other smartphones who offer the same feature, Samsung makes sure that the Note9 will just produce natural-looking images. With that being said, it’s noticeable that the photos we took still flaunt a not-so-enhanced color.

It has perfect mixtures, as it produces good image quality, vibrant and crisp images. All of these were set at its balanced level. Also, it has an impressive night performance! Noises were never an issue even in places with dim lighting.

Its 8-megapixel front shooter also performed well during our test. Just like its rear cameras, its selfie snapper delivers natural-looking photos. Users can even take a professional-like self-photos through its good bokeh effect.

On the other hand, in low-lit settings, noises became visible. It's still tolerable, though.

Our verdict? The new Samsung Galaxy Note9 is a great device that packs good camera features. Its price, however, is really overwhelming most especially if you're just looking for a photography-centric smartphone.

With its price starting at Php55,990, there's no problem buying the Galaxy Note9 if you can really utilize all of its features.

Meanwhile, our team hopes that we can further review the Galaxy Note9 to see its full capabilities. Nevertheless, we'll update you with our initial impressions, so, stay tuned!
