Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology Co., Ltd., or simply Hikvision, a global leader in innovative security products and solutions, recently showcased their products in the Philippines through an event called Hikvision AI Tour 2018. And, one of the main highlights of the tour is their intelligent video surveillance system that utilizes artificial intelligence.

“As AI becomes more common and more powerful, deep learning will soon become the foundational technology for the security industry. AI will strengthen critical security efforts in every sphere, with new machine learning techniques giving CCTV cameras the ability to spot troubling behavior without human supervision,” said Ray Wu, General Manager of Hikvision.
Deep learning is the next level of AI development. It is beyond machine learning where supervised classification of features and patterns are set into algorithms. Rather, deep learning incorporates unsupervised or “self-learning” principles. “Hikvision is building deep learning into its own analytics algorithms. The result of multi-layer learning and extensive data collection is enhanced accuracy and improved analytics. And this applies to vehicle and human recognition,“ explained Mr. Wu.

The tour’s stop in the Philippines is just part of the Hikvision AI Tour 2018 that span across 40 countries in Asia, Africa, Middle East, Oceania, and Latin America. Their innovative products cover AI Cloud Architecture, and other vertical solutions with deep learning algorithms. Some of these are as follows:

EXIR Flexible PanoVu Network Camera - it features a large 1/2.7-inch progressive scan CMOS sensors with four lenses. Each lens can record 1080p 30fps videos with H.265+ compression that saves not only bandwidth, but also storage space. It can analyze 6 behaviors and detects 4 types of exception.

PanoVu PT Series 2MP + 2MP Target Capture Camera - is a distant view camera with intelligent tracking. It can capture both close-up and far away subjects, making it an ideal use for airports, parks, and stations that require wide area monitoring.

2MP 25× IR Network Speed Dome - is part of DarkfighterX, a camera line-up that boasts patented dual-sensor design that process brightness and color independently. It is best suited for auto-tracking and perimeter protection because of its deep learning target classification algorithms.

Facial Recognition Server - as the name implies, it is a server with deep learning technology that can identify and confirm up to 1 million blacklisted targets in different spaces and scenarios. It can also be incorporated into existing solutions as it is also compatible with third-party cameras.

LPR Camera - it can identify more than 6 types of Philippine license plate numbers that includes both private and public utility vehicles with up to 90% accuracy (95% by 2019). Thanks to Hikvision deep learning AI algorithm, it can also automatically flag a vehicle for any kind of traffic violation. So, better follow traffic rules at all thins, as this system is expected to be rolled out soon in the metro.

Hikvision has introduced a series of products that can accurately detect, recognize, and analyze human, vehicle, and object features and behavior, and can be widely used in indoor and outdoor scenarios. “With AI, CCTV cameras now have the digital brains to match their eyes, letting them analyze live video with no humans necessary. AI is a game-changer, and we’re seeing firsthand how that technology can be used to guard against theft and improve security,” said Evelyn Ativo, Product Group Head of Iontech Inc., one of the key players in the Information Technology distribution industry in the Philippines.
