But you may be wondering, what or who is AVision?! AVision is a Filipino lifestyle brand that sells consumer electronics in the Philippines, and one of their main products is TV. The AVision TV can be purchased offline or online through Lazada, Shopee and their very own Facebook shop.
PHYSICAL:

The AVision 32-inch LED TV (32K801), as the name implies, is a television that has an LED panel that measures 32-inch diagonally. And yes, the display is indeed 32 inches as we measured it by ourselves. The bezels around the side is less than half an inch, which can be considered as narrow, and similar to other 2018 TVs from the other brands. In terms of outer dimensions, it measures 17 inches in height, 28.8-inch in width, and about 0.5-inch in its thinnest part, while around 3.1 inches at the thickest.

Going at the back, you will see a minimalist design, which is achieved as it only has few ports. These are USB 2.0 with 5V/500mA output, AV IN (R+L+Video), HDMI 2, HDMI 1, SPDIF, RF IN, and earphone jack, which are positioned from top going to bottom.

Across the other is the AC cord, it is not user-replaceable, so be careful not to damage it in the long run. Down below is where the two loudspeakers are placed, one on the left, and one on the right.

The AVision 32K801 display has a high definition native resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, or about 49 pixels per inch, at 16:9 aspect ratio. It has 10,000:1 contrast ratio, a luminous intensity (brightness), of 280 nits, refresh rate of 60Hz, and viewing angle of 178 degrees. In actual usage, we can say that it has a less saturated and nearly accurate color reproduction. Yes, it is not as vibrant as our expensive Samsung TV, but the difference is only noticeable when you put them side by side, which is something you will definitely not do in real life scenario.

Operating the TV is solely possible using the remote control. The only physical button that the TV has, is the on/off, which is placed at the bottom near the AVision logo. The volume keys, channel buttons, and other controls we normally found on other TVs are nowhere to be found. The good news is, you can easily purchase a replacement (but original) remote control online.
Meanwhile, the interface is pretty basic and straightforward, it is like what you see is what you get. There is little to no learning curve needed to completely understand how to operate the AVision 32K801. However, it also has its own drawbacks. For one, accessing the contents stored in the external USB storage, whether movies, photos or musics, the file name is cut off and limited to only a few characters, which makes it a bit hard to identify or read the file. By the way, it can easily read a TB HDD without any issue.

Speaking of movies, it supports lots file extensions, such as .avi, .mp4, .mov, .mpg, and .mkv to name a few. Based on our test, the AVision LED TV can decode them and work fine as they should, even large files that are above 4GB, and surprisingly, it can display subtitles too! However, there are times that the audio format is not supported, which in turn renders the movie without audio. Moreover, remember that it only has 1366 x 768 pixels, so we recommend watching movies in its native resolution, which is HD. This will also save you storage space on your hard drive, or data when streaming.
It only has two 5W speakers integrated at the bottom sides that handles all the spectrum from sub-bass to brilliance. Therefore, expect that the audio quality is average at best. The volume cranks up from 0 to 100, however, we recommend it to set at 70 to 75 at maximum, as the speakers start to rattle at a higher number, not to mention the ear discomfort. By the way, there is a 3.5mm audio jack at the rear in case you want to listen through headphones, or you want it to connect to external speaker that supports auxiliary input.

On the other note, it is not a Smart TV, or an Internet TV, but you can easily convert it to one by simply adding a set-top box or a media player, which are quite affordable these days. Moreover, it is not a Digital TV, and only receives Analog TV broadcast signals, that is when there is an antenna connected.

The AVision (32K801) 32-inch LED TV is indeed a great buy with its slim design, and good overall performance. Yes, it has its own shortcomings, but what it has to offer outweighs that, especially when you consider its asking price. Speaking of which, it retails for Php13,999, but you can easily get for half the price or less through Shopee or Lazada, with free wall bracket and comes with a 2-year carry in warranty (parts and service).
