Last October, HMD Global officially brought the Nokia 5.1 Plus in the Philippines. Now, the company has announced that its Android One-powered device is the latest smartphone to receive the Android 9.0 Pie update.

As a quick recap, the Nokia 5.1 Plus comes with a 5.86-inch HD+ display with 19:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, it packs a Helio P60 chipset, 3GB RAM, and 32GB of expandable storage. Other notable features also include its 13MP + 5MP dual rear cameras, 8MP selfie snapper, and 3060mAh battery.

Meanwhile, through the update, the device will now have:
  • New system navigation, settings menu, and notifications
  • Adaptive Battery power prioritization for users’ most commonly used apps/services
  • Adaptive and optimize brightness levels
  • Predictive Application Actions
  • Google Security Patch 2018-12

The new software comes as a 1.2GB download. It is also advisable to use Wi-Fi when getting the update.
