To strengthen its dominance in the local market, the brand explained that it will bank on new businesses and B2B operations, as it toned-down its mainstream product segments.
Last FY18, EPC reached an overall positive growth of 23 percent, overtaking FY17’s impressive growth of 14 percent. In terms of product category, the company revealed that inkjet printers and scanners were the highest contributors at 70 percent, sitting just behind is its point of sale (POS) and dot matrix printers at 14 percent, followed by visual instruments at 11 percent, while the commercial and industrial products shared 5 percent.
“For Epson to become an indispensable company, we have to continue to move outside of our comfort zone and into a more progressive mindset—with obsession to details still deeply embedded in our DNA,” Eduardo Bonoan, General Manager for Marketing, EPC, addressed.

“To add to our exceptional performance for inkjet printers and scanners, the FY18 performance for POS and dot matrix printers, visual instruments and commercial & industrial products tells us that this is the perfect opportunity to build the new foundation for Epson here in the Philippines,” Bonoan added.
Hence, as it kicked off a new fiscal year, Epson Philippines aimed to penetrate small but specific markets to meet the demands of the B2B segment. During the media thanksgiving event, EPC showed its plans under the build initiative. Its presentations focused on printers and visual instruments, as well.

Meanwhile, under the build initiative, the company intends to focus more on Epson’s Replaceable Ink Pack System (RIPS), LIJ printers, scanners, label printers, mobile POS, CAD, signage and textile printers, as well as high brightness projectors.
Epson Philippines also claimed that the consumers can expect more from businesses, while it explained that the changing mindset of customers was caused by technological advancements.
