Luckily, our team got a chance to play around with the Realme 3 Pro. Let's dive in!

Realme 3 Pro Unboxing, Hands-on, and Initial Impressions

Initial Impressions:

Realme 3 Pro Carbon Grey variant

First, let’s talk about its design. Coming from the Realme 3, the Pro variant is now dressed with a unique S-back design. Available in three color options, our team received the Carbon Grey model, which reduces reflection. However, unlike the Lightning Purple and Nitro Blue variants, the Carbon Grey unit appears simpler than the two handsets. We can barely see its S-design, though.

The device is easy to hold, but it is heavy at 172 grams. Also, its body can easily attract fingerprints and smudges, so, you better use its protective case.

Going back to the Realme 3, some consumers found it underwhelming because Realme settled for only HD+ 720p resolution. With this, it’s a good news that the brand equipped the Pro model with a bigger 6.3-inch screen with FHD+ 2340 x 1080 resolution. We tried watching videos and playing games using the phone, and we can say that we’re enjoying our viewing experience so far. It comes with good brightness level, as well, even when we’re using it outdoors.

Under the hood, the Realme 3 Pro is powered by Snapdragon 710 octa-core processor paired with Adreno 616 GPU. It sports Hyperboost 2.0 to push its gaming performance. Moreover, it can be coupled with up to 6GB RAM and up to 128GB storage, which is expandable up to 256GB via microSD card.

Having these specs, we’re not surprised that the device can deliver smooth gaming performance. We tried playing Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, PUBG Mobile, and Mortal Kombat, and as of now, we haven’t experienced any issues like heating up and lagging yet.

Moving on to its photography department, Realme geared it with 16MP f/1.7 Sony IMX519 + 5MP f/2.4 depth sensor dual rear shooters, and 25MP f/2.0 selfie snapper. We’re impressed with its camera capabilities, mainly when playing with its primary lens. Our favorite camera feature, on the other hand, is its Nightscape mode – allowing the device to capture great low-light photos with a quality similar to more premium handsets.

However, we’re not satisfied with its front camera, as it has aggressive AI beautification (even when disabled) and bokeh effect. It has tricky performance, too, as we noticed that it produces better selfies in low-light settings. Nevertheless, we like its main cameras’ Portrait mode.

The phone is juiced with 4,045mAh battery with 20W VOOC 3.0 Flash Charging technology. Its stamina can last for more than a day when we’re just using it for basic communications and social media browsing. Meanwhile, when heavily used, it can accompany us for almost 10 hours. Mobile activities include continuous social media browsing, basic communications, and casual gaming.
