Realme has been in the country in just barely two years. But in that short period, the young mobile brand has already become the top two smartphone brand in the Philippines according to the latest Counterpoint Research.

With that achievement, realme becomes the fastest growing brand in the local smartphone industry. According to Counterpoint Q2 2020 SEA report, realme has a record-breaking 97% quarter-on-quarter growth. What's more impressive is that they were able to achieve it even if the overall smartphone market is declining.

Realme Retains 7th Spot in Global Smartphone Market (4/3/20)


While Samsung still enjoys its throne as the biggest mobile vendor in the world, Realme, the fastest-growing smartphone brand in the world, retained the 7th spot in the global smartphone industry with a 3 percent market share.

The smartphone industry faced too many dramas, including the market slowdown caused by the global pandemic, but these didn’t stop mobile companies from launching their respective devices in the market. Now, Counterpoint Research revealed the status quo of the industry on its February 2020 report.

The report showed that Samsung still leads the market with a 22% slice of the pie, followed by 14% of Apple, 13% for Huawei, 9% for Xiaomi, 8% for OPPO, 6% for Vivo, and 3% for Realme.

As you may recall, in Q2 of 2019, the young mobile brand Realme has entered the top 10 OEMs globally for the first time where it posted 848% YoY growth. Impressively, the company only took a year to achieve this milestone, and in fact, its achievement is one of the fastest ramp-ups ever recorded.
