Makati Partners with Globe for Free Public WiFi |
Mayor Abby Binay revealed that its administration has signed an agreement with Globe, allowing them to deploy free GoWiFi access to 27 barangay health centers, Makati City Hall, Ospital ng Makati, and the University of Makati.
During the signing, the two parties announced that #Makatizens will be enjoying a free 1GB GoWiFi for every registration of GoSAKTO, GoSURF, and EasySURF in any GoWiFi hotspots in the city.
Mayor Binay, on the other hand, noted that Makati's A-class projects should be a wake-up call for other LGUs on finally transforming into a smart city.

“Let us embrace technology. Let us understand how technology can make our lives easier and at the same time, the social responsibility component of all these technologies,” Mayor Binay addressed.

“Makati is a great example of an LGU that recognized the need for network infrastructure to enhance connectivity that will benefit its residents,” Globe President and CEO Ernest Cu said.
Meanwhile, Globe announced that it will also install antennas on poles owned by City of Makati in over 100 sites, claiming that its permits with be fast-tracked.
