GameBench and Unity have had a three-year relationship in which GameBench's legacy quality assurance tools have been evolved into a solution that has been completely acceptable for use within the Unity editor. As a Unity VSP, Unity tested GameBench to ensure that the new software development kit is configured for the most recent version of the Unity editor, guaranteeing a consistent experience for all Unity developers.

GPM's ultimate goal is to increase player satisfaction to help acquisition and retention by promoting positive feedback through a smooth gameplay experience. After several notable 2020 game releases were jeopardized by negative user reviews caused by poor play experience, GPM's ultimate goal is to increase player satisfaction to aid acquisition and retention by encouraging positive reviews through a seamless gameplay experience.

Unlike other game development monitoring tools, GPM can be quickly and easily integrated into the development process as a Unity kit that reports on issues early – and therefore more efficient – stage of development. This helps to prevent release date delays caused by hotfixes for performance issues discovered later in the cycle.

The unique GPM solution automates performance checking, eliminating the need for extra work, including manually tracking and reviewing the gameplay. GPM only notifies users when there is a clear performance issue – such as lags, long load times, or shaky gameplay – that will cause gamers to abandon the game. To avoid being overburdened with unnecessary information, developers only receive bug warnings specific to their development stage.

By capturing all facets of the player experience and restoring key reporting features such as full cycle tracking, alerts, insights, and market-based metrics, GPM fosters positive user reviews. Furthermore, rather than implementation technicalities, the broad range of metrics used in GPM speak directly to the player experience.

"Developers only get one shot to make and launch what they hope will become the next big hit," said Scott Flynn, Unity's VP of Platforms. Developers are encouraged to rapidly and easily solve quality and performance problems that would otherwise degrade the user experience by allowing them to track the performance of their title across a wide range of devices. We are pleased to welcome GameBench to our VSP program to assist the developer community in producing high-quality content."
"We're extremely proud that Unity has chosen GameBench as a Verified Solutions Partner while aligning with our industry mission to address the numerous problems that stem from the poor gaming experience," Sri Iyer, GameBench's Founder and CEO, added. It's also fantastic that they're helping GPM's launch. While there are other performance measurement tools on the market, none of them provides tracking, alerting, or insights. As we all know, good performance is crucial for both player acquisition and retention, so we hope that by combining our efforts, GameBench and Unity will be able to help the entire industry reach its full potential."
