The Infinix Hot 10S is a beautiful device. Although almost its entire body is made with polycarbonate material, Infinix added some design touches that make the device look and feel premium. For one, its 3D curved back comes with a unique diamond pattern that gives an elegant and youthful vibe.

At its back part is where you'll find its camera module in a square, along with the fingerprint sensor and the Infinix branding.

Upfront, the device flaunts a big display fitting for a gaming smartphone. It has a 6.82-inch HD+ screen in 720 x 1640 resolution. For a budget phone with a large screen, one would think that the Infinix Hot 10S provides mediocre performance for its display, but you'll be impressed by how good its screen is. It gives off vivid colors and sharp images enough to make gaming and binge-watching an enjoyable experience. This device also has a 90Hz refresh rate and a 180Hz touch sampling rate, which means it's designed for fewer stutters and excellent touch response.

On its left side, the Infinix Hot 10S has its dual SIM card tray with a dedicated microSD card slot, while on the opposite side is where you'll find its volume controls with the power button. In addition, this smartphone houses its 3.5mm audio jack, primary microphone, loudspeaker, and the dated micro USB port at the bottom.

Overall, the Infinix Hot 10S feels smooth in the hands. But if there's one thing that's a tell-tale that this device is a budget phone, it's its heavy body. This can be because of its large battery capacity, which we'll discuss later in this review. However, this is not a problem if you don't mind compromising a lightweight phone for solid battery life.

Infinix HOT 10 Play Review; Budget Sizzle

If budget gaming is what you're looking for, you will get your money's worth with the Infinix Hot 10S. This device runs on a MediaTek Helio G85 processor coupled with 4GB RAM + 64GB onboard storage or 6GB RAM + 128GB internal memory. What we used for a couple of weeks is the latter.

The Infinix Hots 10S can handle graphically demanding mobile games like Genshin Impact and other popular mobile games like Call of Duty Mobile, and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang smoothly in mid settings. We used the smartphone a lot in games and didn't experience any stutter or frame lags with the Infinix Hot 10S.

The gaming-centric features also help the device give out a seamless gaming performance, including the Game Zone and the Dar-Link Ultimate Game Booster.

Game Zone automatically groups all gaming apps into one folder for easy sorting and access. On the other hand, Dar-Link is Infinix's gaming engine designed to optimize the gaming experience by improving color reproduction and enhancing touch panel response.

For an even more immersive gaming experience, the Infinix Hot 10S has DTS Audio Processing that allows users to tweak sound effects and audio. This can be used not just for gaming but also for listening to music and watching movies.

The Infinix Hot 10S is a suitable device for daily multitasking, thanks to its neat and intuitive custom XOS 7.6 UI based on Android 11. Although admittedly, other UIs out there look more premium than the Infinix Hot 10S, we appreciate how it's easy to navigate through. It even comes with customizable functions like resizing the icons and so on. So if you spend the day switching between apps for productivity and social media, the Infinix Hot 10S can keep up with your busy schedule.

To put things into perspective, here's a look at the benchmark results we got with the Infinix Hot 10S.

  • Geekbench Multi-Core - 1,361
  • Geekbench Compute - 1,261
  • PC Mark Work Performance 3.0 - 8,914

Gone are the days when entry-level smartphones equated to low-performing cameras. With the Infinix Hot 10S, users are assured that its triple camera module -- consisting of a 48-megapixel primary sensor, a 2-megapixel depth lens, and an AI camera -- is not for display only.

The cameras of the Infinix Hot 10S are impressive for the smartphone's price. The photos it produced -- may they be taken under well-lit environments or at night -- appeared decent with just the right amount of color accuracy and detail sharpness. You get the usual Night Mode, Slow Motion, Beauty Mode, AR shot, timelapse, panorama, Documents scanner, and others for camera modes; however, it should be noted that the smartphone lacks professional shooting mode, so if that's a non-negotiable for you as a smartphone user, then better look elsewhere. Meanwhile, its front camera is just an 8-megapixel sensor, so expect some flaws in selfies or groufies taken using the Infinix Hot 10S.

As mentioned earlier, the Infinix Hot 10S is relatively heavy because of its hefty battery. The device is powered by a 6,000 mAh battery that we could use for a full day, with a little bit of juice left for the next day. Unfortunately, this smartphone comes with 10W fast charging support that we found not really helpful since we still had to wait for almost two hours to reach 100% battery life.
