In an event called PH1, mWell honored the many firsts it had achieved in the little more than a year since its pilot launch and unveiled more ground-breaking programs that would help reshape not only telemedicine but the entire healthcare sector. Catriona Gray, a TV personality, model, and youth advocate, served as the event's host.

PH1 witnessed the full scope of mWell's telemedicine capabilities, which include medical consultation, e-pharmacy, emergency services, home care, and nutrition and fitness programs. It has developed a cutting-edge EMR and clinic management system for associate doctors along with patient care.

MPIC President, Chairman and CEO, Manny V. Pangilinan says, “Metro Pacific Group’s mWell is the Philippines’ first fully integrated health app which brings together experts in technology, medicine, wellness, and healthcare in one sustainable living ecosystem. This high- performing platform gives access to quality healthcare and empowers our countrymen to be in control of their health as they rebuild their lives coming out of the pandemic. We shall continue to set the standards in digital healthcare as we build a healthier nation and be recognized as the flag carrier for innovative digital healthcare in the Philippines.”

Among mWell's several firsts are:
  • First health app for migrant workers/OFWs to be made available globally
  • The Healthsavers Plan was the first to provide the most economical telemedicine service with a complimentary accident insurance package.
  • The National mWellness Day was the first to introduce the most significant national digital medical mission, with hundreds of volunteer doctors offering free consultations nationwide.
  • The mWellness Score, which tracks physical activity, steps, and sleep, was the first to provide a well-being score created by data scientists.
  • First to provide mWellMD, a state-of-the-art clinic management system created by doctors for doctors.
  • mWell OnTheGo was the first to offer a portable mobile digital clinic to isolated communities nationwide.

“We are celebrating so many firsts through sheer dedication, passion and purpose. We were able to come up with these firsts in terms of product features, innovations not only for patients but also for doctors. We believe that uplifting the lives of Filipinos is a prerequisite to national progress. That’s why mWell helps uplift lives by providing access to better health, which after all is a basic right. It is both a digital health service and an advocacy because at the heart of mWell firsts is our mission to bring healthcare closer to more Filipinos as we make health and wellness available and accessible to anyone, anytime, anywhere,” says MPIC Chief Finance, Risk and Sustainability Officer Chaye Cabal-Revilla.

As a completely integrated healthcare ecosystem that genuinely meets the requirements of Filipinos, mWell perpetuates the culture of innovation. It is not only a super app but a company committed to innovation. The mWell Wellness Wearable will soon be another first. Making wellness wearables more accessible, particularly in rural areas, is intended to democratize and empower more Filipinos. Anyone can track their steps, exercise, and sleep time with the mWell Wellness Wearable and a watch by using the mWellness Score. Soon, people will be able to track their body's temperature, oxygen saturation, heart rate, and other vital indications, making teleconsultation via the app more straightforward. The mWell kiosk, which will be used by local government agencies for their medical missions, is another advancement in telemedicine currently in development.
