INTRODUCTION:

Infinix seems to put to shame the other brands claiming to have the slimmest smartphone in the market. Its recent release, the Infinix HOT 60 Pro+, comes with a sleek body. So thin that it disappears behind a Mongol #2 pencil.

Now, the money question is – what's the compromise for its slim build? Read on and find out.

DESIGN and BUILD:

You have to see it to believe it – the Infinix HOT 60 Pro+ is insanely thin. It might feel awkward in the hand at first upon unboxing. But once you get used to it, you'll appreciate the ease of use brought about by its paperweight build. On paper, the Infinix HOT 60 Pro+ weighs only 155 grams. At 5.9mm, Infinix claims that the HOT 60 Pro+ is the world's slimmest 3D-curved AI phone.

Despite its budget price tag, the Infinix HOT 60 Pro+ looks like a premium smartphone. Its curved screen is an eye-catcher, further enhanced with a metal-like frame with a silver, matte finish. This design detail of the device promotes a solid grip.

Its rear comes with a smooth matte finish that repels fingerprint smudges. There's a familiar-looking Infinix branding on the lower corner of the back cover of the Infinix HOT 60 Pro+, adjacent to a vertical camera module with three protruded boxes. Only one of these is a real camera, while the others are just auxiliary, maybe to achieve a more unified design.

The unit that we got is in Titanium Silver colorway. Other available options include Coral Tides, Misty Violet, and Sleek Black.

There's a halo lighting effect surrounding the bottom "lens", which is a good design touch. The lighting modes and patterns can be synchronized to apps and certain scenarios, like when there's an incoming call or when the device is charging.

The left side of the Infinix HOT 60 Pro+ is a clean slate. On its right cheek are its volume keys and a power button with a special highlight color which also serves as an instant access to the device's AI voice assistant.

By default, the button is set to summon Google's Gemini. Users can tweak it to activate Folax AI instead on the device's settings page, giving an option to choose which AI assistant they prefer.

At the top part of the Infinix HOT 60 Pro+ is a JBL highlight, since the loudspeakers of the device are co-engineered by the said audio brand. Alongside the label, there's a speaker grille and a secondary microphone.

Apart from the smartphone itself, the Infinix HOT 60 Pro+'s package contains a lot of items in exchange for an affordable price. There's a free Infinix 45W brick charger, USB-A to USB-C power cable, SIM ejector tool, user manual, and a warranty card.

Plus, inside the box are a free curved screen protector, cleaning kit with screen protector installation guide, and a sheet of side port sealing stickers. These stickers protect seal openings like SIM trays, USB-C ports, headphone jacks, and speaker grilles in case users would prefer installing a UV adhesive tempered glass screen protector on the Infinix HOT 60 Pro+.

Design-wise, the Infinix HOT 60 Pro+ is clearly on a different level compared to other budget smartphones. It's sleek, slim, and an attention-grabber.

DISPLAY:

Curved screens used to be exclusive to flagship devices. With smartphones like Infinix HOT 60 Pro+, such a high-end feature is now accessible to the budget-conscious tech consumer.

Its 6.78-inch LTPS curved AMOLED screen in 1.5k resolution is among the best features of the Infinix HOT 60 Pro+. Through it, the device provides impressive visuals with sharp details and bright colors.

Additional screen features like a 144Hz refresh rate, 4,500 nits peak brightness, and a 240Hz touch sampling rate also ensure a smooth scrolling experience and an amply visible screen even for outdoor use.

The size of the Infinix HOT 60 Pro+ screen is also sufficient to maximize its special functions that are helpful for boosted productivity including floating and split-screen windows, and smart panel.

The Infinix HOT 60 Pro+ is almost an all-screen smartphone, if not for a punch hole notch housing its selfie camera. This doubles as what the brand calls the Dynamic Bar, similar to the Dynamic Island of the iPhone. It instantly displays important information like calls and app notifications. Plus, it can be used to quickly access apps running in the background like music, stopwatch, timer, recorder, and more.

Albeit with a build that's under 6mm, the Infinix HOT 60 Pro+ doesn't feel and appear fragile. That's because of a few more features intended for durability, including a Corning Gorilla Glass 7i screen coating.

PERFORMANCE:

It was a delightful experience having the Infinix HOT 60 Pro+ as our main device for almost a week. Everything was smooth-sailing – from the instant launching of apps to the steady jump from one app to another.

Multitasking comes as a strength for the Infinix HOT 60 Pro+ with a MediaTek HelioG200 processor under the hood, backed by a 13GB dynamic RAM and a 256GB onboard storage.

Gaming is also a breeze, with popular casual mobile game titles like Mobile Legends and Call of Duty running lag-free even with the highest graphics and playing settings. Plus, the Game Mode on the Infinix HOT 60 Pro+ allows for more focused rounds of games by blocking calls and low-priority notifications from interrupting on the screen.

There's also a pre-installed XArena app which users can maximize for more gaming settings and features, including a Magic Voice Changer, useful for those who like to talk to other players while gaming but don't prefer using the sound of their voice.

On the XArena app, users can also quickly choose from various game modes, including Power Saving, Equilibrium, and Performance. There's a tab as well for quick GPU Settings to tinker gaming image quality like Anisotropic Filtering and Texture Filter.

AI features are likewise plenty on the Infinix HOT 60 Pro+, including the above-mentioned Gemini AI integrated to the One-Tap AI button. There's a built-in Folax, Infinix's AI voice assistant, AI Translation Assistant, AI Call Assistant, AI Document Assistant, AI Writing Assistant, AI Note, AI Recording Summary, AI Subtitles, AI Wallpaper Generator, AI Gallery, and Circle to Search.

CAMERA:

The lone 50-megapixel rear camera on the Infinix HOT 60 Pro+ surprisingly performs a decent job in capturing clear details and vibrant colors. Even at low-lit scenarios, images come out as modest, with the Super Night mode of the Infinix HOT 60 Pro+ working behind the scenes.

There's a built-in Ultra Steady mode that addresses shaky videos of up to 2K, 30 FPS. The front camera of the Infinix HOT 60 Pro+ also supports the same max video quality.
