| Smart Elite Hails Latest UAAP Ambassadors |
In line with the opening of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines 78th Season, Smart Communications unveiled its young and energetic college basketball players that would represent the Smart UAAP Elite Team.
The Smart UAAP Elite Team ambassadors are composed of Gilas cadets, headed by Kiefer Ravena of Ateneo de Manila University, Mark Belo of Far Eastern University, Kevin Ferrer of University of Santo Tomas, Prince Rivero of De La Salle University and Gelo Alolino of National University together with other equally outstanding players, namely Von Pessumal of ADMU, Jett Manuel of University of the Philippines, Dawn Ochea of Adamson University and Paul Varilla of University of the East.

According to Mr. Epok Quimpo, Smart Communications Sports Senior Manager, a former champion player and Blue Eagles team manager, these men were chosen as they have shown a high level of excellence in the basketball field , displayed exemplary sportsmanship and served as role models for many youth in the country.
This nine-man team will be the face of the telecommunication giant in encouraging Filipinos to pursue their passion for sports as well as the positive values it can bring in their lives, the same way Smart has been transforming the lives of millions through its meaningful digital innovations.
